If I'm being honest, I'd have to say 2011 was the worst year of my life(so far). Physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, I was tried and tested- more than I felt was bearable at times. Faced with hard, life-changing decisions, while dealing with the demons of mistakes from my past that haunted me, proved to be overwhelming and disheartening. I had experiences I couldn't have imagined in my wildest dreams, that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemies. I sometimes felt as though I was literally watching my life spin out of control- questioning daily the purpose and meaning of my life on earth. I made too many mistakes, my life was consumed and weighed down by regrets...
In the middle of these memories I began to feel anxious, nervous for yet another year; so I said a quick, quiet prayer. Suddenly, I felt hope and peace in my heart and new thoughts flooded my mind.. A kind, forgiving and merciful Heavenly Father blessed me with a loving family who never gave up on me.. even after I'd given up on myself. I am thankful to have felt their prayers in a time of such despair and darkness. I am thankful for another chance at making my life right again through the Atonement. Tomorrow is a new day, in a new year! I have resolved to 'be my best self'.
This Holiday season was truly wonderful- I was surrounded by my amazing family and we had a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of our adventures:
Then it was Christmas!!
It was really a fantastic Holiday and I am so thankful for my family and many wonderful blessings..
To end on a positive note for the year, in 2011 I excelled academically, learned hard lessons, and was reminded to trust the plan heavenly father has for me, it is perfect (and I will be too, one day). I traveled, enjoyed my family and friends, and was able to appreciate my blessings.
Bring on 2012, I am so ready!

2011 wasn't too fabulous for me either! But I feel like 2012 will bring more happiness than the previous! :) There's a lot to look forward to, and you know I'm always here for you!! I love you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bruninha....We love you so much and we are blessed with the pleasure of having you in our family! The most important thing you can remember is that Heavenly Father loves you too! And He is just a prayer away. Thanks for helping make 2011 a happy year to all of us!
